Branding.
It's more than a logo.
Experiences with
a solid identity.
Keep it consistent.
Branding causes a lot of confusion, even for larger businesses.
Firstly: a brand is not a logo. It’s part of the brand, but not the brand itself.
The brand is the whole identity your business communicates with others. This is a collection of things, and probably why it’s quite hard to define.
As a minimum, your business should have a set of well thought-out branding assets that have been purposefully and consistently created with your end-users in mind. We can create this for you if you need. And we need it before starting any website project.
Some things to consider:
- Emblems and logos - a significant part of how people will first recognise your business. We'll create variants for different situations and media formats to a professional standard.
- Typography - there's a reason we don't use Ariel, Courier New, or Brush Script for our site. Type sets a tone for your business. We'll find the right one, and have access to the right licensing.
- Colour palettes - colour is critical, and yet so many brands get this terribly wrong. We'll set you up with carefully chosen colour combinations that work across screen and print media, with correctly balanced ratios and accessibility-friendly options.
- Brand guides - the official documentation of your brand, all assets, and how they should (and should not) be used to ensure everything is consistent and proper. It's not rocket science, but it sure is a skill.
- Print - we'll consider the various use cases your business is likely to encounter, and design correctly-formatted print assets for it, ready for use. We can do some seriously cool things you might not have thought of. Read more.
